The second annual Civil Service Excellence and Innovation Awards ceremony was hosted by the Taoiseach, Mr Enda Kenny, and the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Mr Paschal Donohoe, in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham on 6th December, 2016.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Minister said:
‘Today is a very proud and special day and I am very pleased to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of the award winning projects. I am delighted to congratulate the staff who worked on the projects and indeed all staff who participated in the awards process this year.
The award winning projects this year are great examples of the good success stories in the Civil Service. They also show the tremendous range of complex work that the Civil Service does every day to support the Government and deliver public services. We are fostering a culture of innovation in the Civil Service and these awards demonstrate the high levels of innovation and excellence and the diversity of roles across the organisation.’
The Taoiseach, who presented the awards to the winning project teams, remarked that:
‘The awards highlight the work and contribution of the Civil Service from teams working in the smallest frontline offices to larger project teams operating across several departments; these awards showcase the innovation, dedication and enthusiasm of civil servants to deliver a world class service to the Irish people’.
